Combe Pafford's final day - Painting and fixing the windows.

Painting the boys dorm.

Dring our visit last year, the students told us that if we could help with one thing it would be to help cover windows in their dormitory. When it rains, they get drenched and have to pull their beds to the middle of the room which then floods.

Fixing the dormitory windows required lots of team work and skill. Latches on the windows meant that the pre-cut Perspex had to be re-cut with a hacksaw. The boys were amazing to pull this together under the guidance of Mr Naftan. Just four more pieces to cut and the windows will be complete. Over 30 windowless frames have been covered with Perspex using a mixture of screws and glue.

Fingers crossed for a dry nights sleep tonight!

With the dormitory completed, teacher Naftan showed us to an unused classroom under renovation. Work needs to be done to the floor before 1it is operational but we thought we would get a head start on the walls. I’ve never known what people meant by a ‘painting party’ – I thought it was an American phrase. But no… I’m pretty sure the Kenyans invented it! Or at least… the Imprezza Academy students do it very well!!!
