Upcoming money raising events for the aCADEMY
Join us for the Riviera Concert Brass Proms - July 15th
The Band have been eagerly rehearsing for a Last Night of the Proms event at St Michael’s Church in Teignmouth. This is to raise funds for Operation Imprezza. We have some fantastic music lined up and will be including a full traditional ‘Last Night’ second half as shown on the BBC with the Fantasia on British Sea Songs interspersed with a little trip around the British Isles, Land of Hope and Glory, Jerusalem and all the rest of the Pomp and Circumstance. We have also included ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ which was such a hit on last year’s prom and have some other sing-a-long songs such as ‘Hey Jude’, ‘Daydream Believer’ and ‘Sweet Caroline’. The wonderful Theresa Moorin is our soprano soloist and she may bring some friends to help her in the first half. We also have another surprise visitor!

A Huge thank you to Tomo, Debbie Foxford, Matt Cotton, Jon Ross-McNairn, Vic Bekker, Dave Swift and Paul Davies on completing the 23 mile Abbot's way (52,300 steps!)
To top it all they reached their target of £3,000 !!! Well done.

On Saturday September 7 the sun shone & the air was filled with uplifting sea shantys 🎶 from the fantastic fellas of Bow Movement & the lovely ladies of Hot Tuna. A hearty thanks goes to Binka & her brilliant team from the awesome Ring of Bells in Cheriton Fitzpaine. Delicious Olivers pasties & Flying Pickle scones, along with a raffle (with kindly donated prizes from The Ring of Bells, Thorne's Farm Shop & Cafe & The Flying Pickle Deli), all helped to raise essential funding & awareness for Operation Imprezza! Thank you to all who came & supported us & we hope to see you again next year… ♥💚

Bhumika's 10K run for Imprezza
Bhumika, one of our trustees, completed a 10k run in Regents Park, London on May 4th. Bhumika has been involved with Operation Imprezza since her time as a pupil at Torquay Girls Grammer School. She says’ “It has been a huge privilege to work with such a dedicated team of trustees and inspiring to be part of such a positive and impactful project which changes the lives of so many children.”

It was a great Irish night which everyone seems to have enjoyed. Plenty of songs to sing along to, Irish dancing, including one person from the audience and one girl from behind the bar having a go The band were as good as ever. Food was available to purchase and we heard many compliments. All being well we will be doing it again later in the year so watch this space. Chris.
