Every one gets stuck in painting and fixing the windows
Last year, we spoke to the students of Imprezza Academy who told us that if we could help with one thing it would be to help cover windows in their dormitory. When it rains, the boys get drench and have to pull their beds to the middle of the room which then floods.
The finishing of the boys’ dormitory windows required lots of team work and skill. Latches on the windows meant that the pre-cut Perspex had to be re-cut again with a hacksaw. The boys were an amazing team to pull this together under the guidance of Mr Naftan.
Just four more pieces to cut and the dormitory windows will be complete.
Over 30 windowless frames have been covered with Perspex using a mixture of self-tspping screws and adhesive.
Fingers crossed for a dry nights sleep tonight!
With the dormitory completed, but paint remaining, Teacher Naftan showed us to a currently unused classroom that is being renovated.
Work needs to be done to the floor before it is operational but we thought we would get a head start on the walls.
I’ve never really known what people meant by a ‘painting party’ – thought it was a bit of an American phrase. But no… I’m pretty sure the Kenyans invented it! Or at least… the Imprezza Academy students do it very well!!!
